By the end of the workshop you will have everything that you need to submit your application. Towards the end of the workshop we will be walking through the application form screen by screen so you can hit submit at the end of that.

The day is split into 3 sections: 2 x 90 minute live sessions and a 90 minute window where you'll be able to use the information and skills you've learnt to complete the searches.

We start at 9:30am to 11:30 and you'll learn: what you can and can't register, how the registration system works (in the UK and internationally), how to conduct availability searches (a key skill for any entrepreneur) and how the class system works (you need to choose 1 of 45 classes to register in).

Next you'll have some time to conduct your searches and check that your trade mark is available. You can also start working on your class selection.

At 1pm we go live together again and discuss search results and finish preparing our application. Then we walk through the application process together step by step. We finish by discussing troubleshooting and what happens in the next phases when the application has been submitted.

It costs £205 to submit an application (via Fast Track). Most people add another 1 or 2 classes which are £60 each so we recommend budgeting £350 for application fees. You can split the fees into two payments (via Right Start) but there is a fee for doing that and we'll talk about the pros and cons of applying via Right Start or Fast Track.

Once submitted the trade mark office will take up to 10 working days to review the application and come back to you. If everything is okay with the application it will be added to the journal for 2 months, unless opposition is threatened and then another 1 month will be added to the application period. Allow at least 3 months for the application to come through
